- Since April she's only played on clay winning 17 matches out of 21.
- She's playing against the best player she's ever played today but will have nothing to lose and all the crowd
- behind her.
- Roberta Vinci (#25) has also been in great form, winning 3 WTA events in recent months and getting to the 3rd
- round of Wimbledon.
- She's currently at her career high ranking and would be a banker to win this match if it were a more important
- event.
- Her motivation this week however must be questioned. This is a WTA international event which is the lowest
- level on the WTA circuit and Vinci will not be considering this event as a priority in any way.
- She may well play this like a practice match and she certainly wouldn't be too concerned if she were to lose.
- She's not the sort of player that can easily hit her opponent off the court so this is likely to be a fairly long match
- with plenty of long rallies.
- If Babos can get into this match and be competitive I don't think Vinci will fight to the death to win.
- Vinci is not the most honest of players and when it suits her she has been known to give less than 100%.
- It tends to be in matches against her fellow countrywomen or local players. Look at her results against Errani
- (#44), Molik (#135) and Gajdosova (#42) earlier this year for examples of this. Also the way she through away
- her match against Baltacha (#74) in Indian Wells was suspicious to those following the match.
- She may well do a favour to the local girl here today and lose this match.
