Key Points
- This tennis betting tip comes from Wimbledon and the semi final match between Andy Murray (#4) and Rafael
- Nadal (#1).
- Andy Murray (#4) has made a lot of progress in recent months. Darren Cahill who's been working closely with
- him for a few months seems to gave done a great job.
- His run at the French Open was impressive, given that he struggled with an ankle injury for much of the
- tournament.
- One week later he was strong enough to win Queen's against Tsonga (#19) who is of course in the form of his
- life.
- He's made light work of his run to the semi-finals which is very important in Grand Slams.
- In the past when he's made the latter stages of Wimbledon he's had to play at least one very tough match on the
- way.
- Murray is now experienced enough to deal with the pressure of playing at Wimbledon.
- As he's currently playing the best tennis of his life I don't think the pressure will get to him.
- One year ago Murray lost to Nadal in 3 tight sets but in terms of points won there was very little between the two
- players.
- Rafael Nadal is perhaps not quite in as perfect shape as he was 12 months ago. He struggled against Del Potro
- (#21) who was able to put the world number 1 under a great deal of pressure. Nadal picked up a foot injury
- during that match.
- Before his quarter-final against Fish Nadal's camp said there was no problem with his foot but after the match
- Nadal admitted that he had had some painkilling injections on his foot.
- Nadal has already pulled out of Spain's Davis Cup tie next week and is very likely to lose his world number 1
- ranking at the end of this week.
- I think the key to this match is Murray getting on top of the Nadal serve. If Murray can attack it with controlled
- aggression and try to finish off the points after 2 or 3 shots on a regular basis then Murray will become favourite
- for the match.
- Djokovic used similar tactics to get his wins over Nadal earlier in the season.
- Murray in contrast gets so many free points on his serve that I don't believe he will be broken very often.
- With the crowd behind him I think Murray has a great chance of making the final here.
