Key Points

This tennis betting tip comes from the second match of the play off between South Africa and Croatia in Potchefstroom between Izak Van der Merwe (#128) and Marin Cilic (#26).
The big factor here is the altitude. The match is played at over 1300 metres so the ball will fly and serves will be very difficult to return.
Van der Merwe's serve is one of the best on tour and he always performs well at his home tournament in Johannesburg which is played at similar altitude.
This year he was in the semi-final is the ATP event in Jo-burg and won a challenger event in the same city.
He has been brought up playing in these conditions and will be confident of doing well today. There's a big gap in their rankings but Van der Merwe has far more experience of playing competitive tennis in these conditions
Marin Cilic is not one of the more reliable players on tour. His form is very in and out and he is prone to making a lot of unforced errors.
If this becomes a battle of serves then I wouldn't want to be backing Cilic. He has a very awkward service motion as opposed to Van der Merwe who's action is more simple.
Cilic's serve is likely to break down at some point during the match and I think Van der Merwe will be able to break him.
Van der Merwe on the other hand has the potential to go the whole match without losing serve.
With the home crowd behind him, I'm very confident that Van der Merwe is a very good value bet.
