Key Points
- This tennis betting tip comes from the ATP Queens Club and the Quarter Final match between Rafael Nadal (#1)
- and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (#19).
- Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (#19)Â is at his best on grass in my opinion.
- It was on this surface back in 2004 that he first made his name winning the Nottingham challenger, coming
- through qualifying winning 8 matches in a row without losing a set. He beat a young Andy Murray along the way.
- He won another challenger on grass in 2007 after a few years of injury trouble.
- The point I'm making is that he's a natural grasscourter unlike Rafael Nadal (#1) who of course had all his early
- success on clay.
- He's adapted well to grass in recent years but when he's not playing his very best tennis he's always vulnerable
- on this surface.
- Rafael Nadal had a great win at Roland Garros last week but things were not as easy for him as usual. This
- seems to have taken a lot out of him physically and he's taking time to adapt to the grass courts this week.
- He's not serving very well. He gave away 16 break point opportunities to Stepanek during the 3 sets they played
- yesterday (losing serve 3 times).
- There's no doubt that Tsonga will take every opportunity to attack straight off Nadal's serve. If this serve isn't
- working at it's best Tsonga is capable of breaking several times.
- Tsonga on the other hand is playing near his best level. Against Michael Berrer (#79) in the first round he hardly
- put a foot wrong and played some sensational tennis, losing only one game.
- He had a nice easy day yesterday with Michael Llodra (#25) retiring from what could have been a close match.
- Nadal meanwhile had a tough encounter with Stepanek. Stepanek is a good grasscourter but his serve is
- nothing like as strong as that of Tsonga.
- Tsonga will be very tough to break today. Nadal's serve looks more vulnerable this week and this is why Tsonga
- is such a great bet today.
- Last year Nadal lost here at the quarter-final stage and I think there's a very good chance he will lose today's
- quarter final.
