- This tennis betting tip is from the semi-final match between Novak Djokovic (#1) and Tomas Berdych (#9) at the ATP Cincinnati Masters.
- Tomas Berdych has been playing some really great tennis this week. He's yet to lose a set, beating Monaco (#39) 7-6 6-0, the in-form Almagro (#10) 6-2 6-2 and then of course Roger Federer last night.
- Federer was below his best and although he may not have given maximum effort, Berdych still had to go out and win the match.
- He seems to like the fast conditions here, he served very well and looked strong mentally.
- There's no doubt he'll be aiming to win this title now after a season of disappointments.
- Djokovic must have mixed emotions after getting to another semi-final. While he loves winning his priority will certainly be winning in New York where the US Open starts in 9 days from now.
- He didn't look particularly motivated last night against Monfils (#7), but after the Frenchman threw away the 2nd set Djokovic decided it was time to stop messing about and win the match.
- Berdych has more mental strength than Monfils and would probably have won if he had been in Monfils's situation.
- This match finished late last night and lasted 2.5 hours. It finished several hours after Berdych's straightforward win against Federer.
- Both players seem to have slight shoulder problems today. Perhaps Berdych's shoulder issue will count against him today, but if he can play anywhere near his level of yesterday I'm confident he'll win this match.
- Don't think of Djokovic as being miles ahead of the rest of the world in his level of tennis.
- This week he clearly is not playing at his level of last week and is very beatable. Maybe the conditions in Cincinnati are a bit to fast for him, he seems to lack motivation and may not mind if he loses today.
- At this price Berdych is certainly worth backing!
