Key Points
- This tennis betting tip is for Thomaz Bellucci to win the ATP Challenger Tour Finals in São Paulo, Brazil.
- Thomaz Bellucci has been through a run of poor form. That's good for us as otherwise we wouldn't be getting such a great price on him to win this tournament in his home country.
- I expect a return to form from the Brazilian who's shown signs of his best tennis in recent weeks.
- Last week he lost a tight 3 setter against the in form Bogomolov Jr (35) and the week before he narrowly lost out to Nieminen (66) also in 3 tight sets.
- In the Davis Cup in September he played a great match on indoor hard against Youzhny (32) which he came extremely close to winning, eventually losing out 14-12 in the 5th set.
- With his left handed slice serve Bellucci could be a very good player on this surface and he just needs the confidence of a few wins to start to perform better.
- If you need any reminding of how good he is just have a look at this set that he won against Djokovic earlier this year in Madrid. He led by a set and a break but eventually lost out in 3.

- This tournament in São Paulo seems to be almost set up for him to win. There are only 8 players in the tournament and Bellucci is a class above all of the other players.
- He is the star attraction and at 37 in the rankings he needs a few points to get himself into the top 32 seeded positions for the Australian Open.
- As the only Brazilian in the draw the success or failure of this tournament depends on his success (or failure) so I have no doubt that his motivation here will be 100%.
- His first group match will be against Bobby Reynolds (121), a very average American with a big serve but not much else.
- The other two players in Bellucci's group are Martin Klizan (90) and Andreas Beck (105). Klizan is a hardworking but unexceptional baseliner while Beck is a flashy baseliner who hits a huge amount of unforced errors. Bellucci will almost certainly qualify for the semi-finals without much trouble.
- In the other group the higher ranked players are Rui Machado (73) and Dudi Sela (95), who are both good but rather limited players. On indoor hard courts they lack the weapons to be a threat to a player of the class of Bellucci. By the semi final stage Bellucci should be confident enough to beat either of those.
- The other threat in that group could be Matthias Bachinger (109) who is an indoor hardcourt specialist. I guess the courts in Sao Paolo won't be particularly fast however and this will play into Bellucci's hands.
- I'm convinced that Bellucci is a very good value bet here and he will probably win the tournament.
