Lin Zhu v Eugenie Bouchard

Tennis - WTA Taipei - 30 Jan 10:30

We all saw what Bouchard managed just a few years ago and since then has been disappointing but you have to remember that she is still young and her best years could still be ahead of her.

In these past two years the vast majority of losses have still been against very good players which has made it hard to string results together.

She managed to beat Dodin in the open this year before losing to Halep in straights, yet another hard first round draw for the Canadian.

She has a chance in this draw with a weaker field in her way this week. A good performance here could be all that she needs to get that confidence back and when she has that confidence she can compete with the very best.

Zhu is her opponent today, a player who outside of the Asian swing you won't see much of on the WTA tour. She is a respectable player but does not contain the ability of Bouchard who can simply outhit her.

Neither player has that much experience on the indoor hard courts with Zhu going 12/10 and Bouchard going 23/19. The crowd shouldn't be too much of a factor from watching the other games so far in this event and thus I am willing to take the Bouchard win.
