Widnes v Wakefield -6 Handicap

Rugby league - Super League - 20 May 14:30

Squads haven't even been announced yet but when they are I feel this line will surely go up, possibly up to 12 points. Widnes have an injury crisis and in the last game they had to call up 2 youths to the starting line up. It got worse for them that day too when their star winger, Patrick Ah Van (7 tries in 6 games this season) was taken off injured. That's now 13 first choice players out injured!

They've just made 3 emergency loan signings, Rangi Chase (top players when in the mood, which is rarely), plus Sam Wilde and Jack Johnstone (average cover). What's worse is that this game isn't even at home where Widnes are good on the artificial surface, this is the magic weekend where all 6 games played at St James park in Newcastle. I fear for them right now, already bottom of the league, injuries are killing them and this could get ugly.

Wakefield on the other hand are in good form, winning their last 2 league games followed by an easy 54-6 win this the cup last weekend. They arrive here full of confidence and scoring tries. Wakefield beat Widnes 30-4 just last month when Widnes had a much stronger squad. I feel like going max stakes but will play it safe and go double stakes just in case Widnes can get any players back, although that seems unlikely.
