Towcester Red Indian

Horse racing - Towcester - 08 Feb 14:55

After Fakenham was abandoned yesterday I had no idea that Red Indian has been given a couple of entries today, this one at Towcester is first preference and I think he will take all the beating so I'm happy to support him again.

Last time out this horse was 3rd in the Lanzarote Hurdle at Kempton, beaten just under 3 lengths. It looks like a race to follow as it's already thrown up a big winner and hopefully this one franks the form further.

The winner of the Lanzarote was William Henry who's subsequently gone up to a mark of 151. The 4th was Topofthegame who came out and won a Grade 3 last weekend and has subsequently gone up to a mark of 150.

Having separated horses now rated 150 & 151 you'd have to say Red Indian is around a 150 rated animal too, however he's running here off a mark of 137. Jockey Alex Ferguson actually takes off 7lb so he's effectively running of just 130 here! It's fair to say that he looks well handicapped and he could be up to 20lb well in.

This race actually looks easier than the one he was backed into evens for yesterday and the best horse he faces is rated just 135 which is nothing like the 150 rated horses he separated last time out. I will be very disappointed if he doesn't win this.
