Huntingdon Equus Secretus

Horse racing - Huntingdon - 08 Feb 14:15

Ben Pauling looks like he's turned the corner as his last 4 runners have all won. He sends out plenty today and should hopefully bag a few more winners, this one looks good value to increase his good form.

Equus Secretus has career form figures of 1-1-1-3. An easy 12 length winner of a Point-To-Point on debut he then comfortably won his first two hurdle races, the second of them by 6 lengths.

Last time out he was thought good enough to contest the Albert Bartlett Trail at Cheltenham (Grade 2). Unfortunately he was far too keen and just wouldn't settle, whilst the yard were not in the greatest form at the time either.

The fact he was thought good enough to even contest that race speaks volumes, we can excuse him for finishing 3rd because he was too free and the yard are now in better form. He drops back in trip too which will help if he won't settle again.

Every reason to believe he can bounce back to winning ways here and 13/2 is just too big, especially considering he was sent off at 9/4 for that Grade 2 last time out. I would have taken 11/2 and I'd advise just that if these odds go.
