Badger Ales Trophy Southfield Theatre - Each Way

Horse racing - Badger Ales Trophy - 11 Nov 15:35

Trainer Paul Nicholls has won this race 7 times previously. This year he has the top two in the market, Present Man & Southfield Theatre, both contested this race last year too. Last year Present Man was sent off at 7/2 and fell at the second, Southfield Theatre was sent off the 11/8 favourite and looked set to win before falling at the last. See for yourself.

Southfield Theatre is 6lb higher in the weights this time if you take into account the jockeys claim last year, however he's replaced by Sam Twiston-Davies who could be worth 6lb he rides so well in these big races. Southfield Theatre loves it here at Wincanton too, his form figures round here read 1-1-3-1-F. He won the novice chase on this card in 2014 and should have won on his last visit here in this race last year.

He's clearly being targeted at this race again, he loves this track and has a better jockey booking than last year, plenty to like. It's a more competitive renewal this year and he's on a 6lb higher mark so he should be a bigger price than the 11/8 he was last year, not 10/1 though, that's just too big. A good each way investment so double stakes. 4 places at 1/4 odds.
