Maybank Championship Anirban Lahiri each way

Golf - Maybank Championship - 09 Feb 05:00

This golf betting tip comes from the Maybank Championship and the outright market.
Anirban Lahiri, has dropped to 85 in the OWGR but has shown signs that he is close to recapturing the sort of form that saw him win the Indian Open and Malaysian Open in February 2015.
India’s top ranked player has been earning his living at the highest level on the PGA Tour and has made a decent start to the season with a T25 at the Career Builder Challenge which he followed up with a T19 in last weeks Dubai Desert Classic (DDC).
I was surprised that the 29 year old travelled to UAE as his only other appearance in the DDC was back in 2010 when he missed the cut around the Majlis course.
It may be that he considered the event was a good place to warm up for this week’s challenge in Kuala Lumpur where he features far more prominently in the betting.
The Saujana GC will host the Maybank. After a lengthy absence as a tour venue it was good to discover that Lahiri has played the course as an amateur which must be a plus as most of the field will be seeing the track for the first time.
In addition to a maiden Tour victory in the Malaysian Open, he also finished 3rd in the CIMB Classic (Kula Lumpur) last October so he has played some good golf in the region.
In a recent quote from the Indian Express Lahiri stated “I have only played in three events this year but I feel like my game is in the right place. I’m making a lot of birdies, which is a good sign. I probably need to tighten my round a bit and put four rounds together”.
After a good performance in Dubai he looks primed for another win in Asia which will see him edge closer to a lucrative Top 50 world ranking. (Stake 5 pts ew ¼ odds 5 places).
