Mauritius Open Miguel Tabuena

Golf - Mauritius Open - 03 Dec 08:00

Tabuena has been on my radar for a few seasons. A young player with a lot of potential and what a chance he has tomorrow to land a European Tour event.

He's won once on the Asian Tour and looked very composed in Round 3, not dropping a shot in his final 17 holes.

Tabuena has been playing really well in the build up to this event with Top 25 finishes in 4 of his last 5 events. He was T3 in his penultimate start in Manila and T7 in Macao.

He's currently -12 and just one shot behind Atwal who finished with a very shaky bogey in Round 3. He's out in front based mainly on his 62 on Day 1 and showed no form prior to this event to suggest he's ready to win again.

Fellow leader De Jager is ranked 716 in the World and has been playing well on the Sunshine Tour but hasn't won since 2014 and I'm not convinced he's got the bottle to win a big event like this.

Frittelli is the danger man and has been playing some good golf of late but I'm not sure his attacking game will work when the wind picks up and it's forecast to blow 18 mph tomorrow. Tabuena has been far more accurate from the tee finding 77% of fairways compared to 67% of Frittelli.

Odds of 6.5 look decent given the two leaders and the way he played in Round 3.
