Tom Lovelady v Cameron Smith/Sean OHair

Golf - Farmers Insurance Open - 27 Jan 18:00

Not sure what happened here. Posted this once but it didn't work. I'll be much briefer this time.

I backed Lovelady at the start of the week and so far he's done well to sit T9 after 2 rounds. It was his ability to drive the ball over 300 yards that caught my eye in the 1st place.

Torrey Pines South is the longest course on the PGA Tour and the Par 5s are key. Lovelady has the power to reach them all in 2.

He played well last week finishing in the Top 30 of the Career Builder Challenger despite being +4 at one stage in his 1st Round.

Cameron Smith has been in fine form but his best finishes came in Australian & Asia. On US Soil it's just one Top 10 in 12 events, missing 7 cuts.

In 3 previous visits here he's finished 33 - MC - MC. He's shorter off the tee than Lovelady which is a distinct disadvantage on this course

Sean O'Hair is an easy player to oppose. Only 1 Top 50 finish in his last 6 events and his record here at Torrey Pines is poor 69 - MC - 49 -MC - MC - MC.

Lovelady is as short as 3.25 elsewhere so this looks a generous price from bet365.
