BMW South African Open Top 20 Finish - Scott Vincent

Golf - BMW South African Open - 12 Jan 06:30

This golf betting tip comes from the BMW South African Open and the Top 20 Finish market.
Scott Vincent is a young player from Zimbabwe who I have backed a few times in low key events in the southern hemisphere.
He only turned pro in May last year after a stellar amateur career and is steadily progressing through the various tours in Canada, Africa and Asia.
At the end of 2015 the 24 year old was named the Asian Tours Rookie of the Year after finishing 28th on the final Order of Merit thanks to two top 10’s including a runner up at the Shinhan Donghae Open in Korea.
He also notched up three top 10’s on the Mackenzie Tour in Canada where his scoring average was a respectable 69.5 in 12 events.
This weeks tournament at the Glendower Golf Club has some quality at the head of the betting with McIlroy & Sullivan in the field but it lacks strength in depth and should present an opportunity for Vincent to improve on his world ranking of 300.
As for course form, I discovered that the Zimbabwean played in the African Junior Golf Challenge at Glendower in 2010 where he shot 74-68-74-72 to win the individual honours. Interestingly, Haydn Porteous & Brandon Stone (who won the SA Open in 2016), finished 3rd & 4th respectively.
A young player on the upgrade playing a course where he has performed well previously must be worth some interest. I was tempted by the 16/1 available with Stan James for a Top 10 finish but decided the 6/1 with the same firm in the Top 20 market is the sensible bet.
