BMW Charity Pro-Am Chase Marinell Top 10

Golf - BMW Charity Pro-Am - 19 May 12:00

Chase Marinell is 750/1 this week and it’s admittedly unlikely that he wins this event, but I’m happy to back him in the top 10 market with Bet365 at 66/1.

After a good season on the Canadian Tour in 2015, the 24-year-old finished 18th in the money standings and I believe that was enough to earn him his Tour card.

Marinell recorded four top 10 finishes in the 12 events he played on the Canadian Tour, including a 2nd place finish.

Since the step up in grade to the Tour, Marinell has admittedly struggled, hence the outright price of 750/1. He missed seven consecutive cuts up until last week’s Rex Hospital Open.

In the Rex Hospital Open, Marinell finished in 53rd position, therefore why do I think he’s such an attractive top 10 bet?

Well his 53rd place finish doesn’t tell the whole story. He was notably 4th after round one and 3rd after round two.

On the weekend he then played poorly which resulted in him falling down the leaderboard, but his opening two rounds indicates he can compete at this level. Furthermore, it was the first time he’d been in that sort of position on the Tour, therefore the pressure most likely got to him.

Hopefully, Marinell will have learnt from his mistakes at the Rex Hospital Open over the weekend and produce a top 10 this week.
