West Brom v Southampton

Football - Premier League - 03 Feb 15:00

After a slow start under Alan Pardew, West Brom have put in improved performances of late. They beat Brighton 2-0 in their last home games, and since then drew at Goodison Park and won at Anfield.

Pardew has focused on adding attacking threat, and that's evident through the performances of Jay Rodriguez and Salomon Rondon in recent weeks. The addition of Daniel Sturridge only provides further goal threat. Jonny Evans could return after missing Wednesday's trip to the Etihad too.

WBA have lost just two of their last eight and have lost just one of their last six at the Hawthorns.

Southampton are struggling at the minute. They begin the weekend in the relegation zone and without a win in 12 league games. Goals are a massive issue, and with Charlie Austin and Manolo Gabbiadini out injured, the onus will be on new signing Guido Carrilo to make an instant impact.

This is a big game for both sides, and I've seen more in West Brom's recent performances to suggest they're the more likely winners here. A tight game is expected, but the Baggies have improved in the final third and their quality can show through. The odds imply there is around a 37% chance West Brom win all three points which offers some value, although the draw is a strong runner.
