Stoke v Leicester Shown A Card: Joe Allen

Football - Premier League - 04 Nov 12:30

Stoke got a good away win at Watford last week, but with the 'new manager effect' already seeming to have paid off a Leicester (2-0 win v Everton), I think this will be a pretty even game. Vardy is looking back to some sort of form, after tending to his hip during the last international break and he bagged for the first time since September last time out.

Leicester have pace going forward with Mahrez, Vardy and Gray all expected to start, they won the league playing counter attacking football and I don't see their DNA changing too much here, away from home.

Happy to back Joe Allen here at these odds. He has picked up 4 yellows in 9 starts in the PL this season, and 13 cards across 43 starts in the past 2 seasons = odds of 3.31. Sobhi, Shaqiri, Diouf and Choupo-Mouting won't offer a great deal in defence, so Fletcher and Allen will get through a lot of work stopping the counter attack.

Allen averages 2.3 tackles, 1.8 interceptions and 1.6 fouls per game in the Premier League this season, and I expect him to be busy again today.

The ref for this game is Bobby Madley. He had a shocker last week, but he still averages 5.17 cards per game in the PL this season and has shown 4 or more in 4/5.

4.75 and 4.50 available if this price is cut. Also putting a few £ on him first card at 16/1 with same firm.
