League 1 Northampton to finish in the top half

Football - League 1 - 30 Apr 15:00

In my opinion Northampton are this seasons dark horses. They've spent this summer and look to have good claims for success. Ash Taylor and Leon Barnett can form a solid partnership in defence, Taylor has been a key part of a successful Aberdeen side over the last few years and Barnett brings experience having won promotion on five different occasions. Defender Aaron Pierre joins on a free-transfer from Wycombe and is highly-rated having been linked with Championship sides. Daniel Powell, Yaser Kasim and Sam Foley have a variety of football league experience and strengthen a solid pool of midfielders with Matt Taylor and box-to-box midfielder John-Joe O’Toole. Alex Revell is unplayable on his day and with Marc Richards, Billy Waters, Sam Hoskins, Chris Long and Dean Bowditch available, manager Justin Edinburgh has a variety of attacking options. This is Edinburgh’s first pre-season at Northampton after he took over mid-season from Rob Page. 11/8 for a top-half finish looks a solid bet.
