Sporting v Juventus Shown A Card: Rodrigo Battaglia

Football - Champions League - 31 Oct 19:45

Backing Battaglia again, at a whole point bigger than last time. He should have been booked last game although his elbow on Pjanic somehow went unpunished despite the referee blowing for a freekick - not quite sure how that works. He has been booked in 1/3 CL games so far this term

He is averaging 3 tackles, 1.3 interception and 2.3 fouls per game so far in the competition. Even in his 5 domestic starts he has put up 1.8 tackles, 0.54 interceptions and 2.8 fouls per game, so he's an all action combative midfielder that's for sure. With Sporting playing well last time, and the fact they are at home here, they should be more attacking. This will leave them more susceptible to the counter attack and hopefully leave Battaglia exposed as the deep lying midfielder.

The ref for this game is Clement Turpin from France. He averages 4.7 cards per game in Europe and has shown 5 or more in 17/35.
