Peter Wright v Stephen Bunting Most 180s

Darts - Grand Slam of Darts - 15 Nov 22:15

These odds are wrong, I'm convinced of it. In 2017 Peter Wright has averaged 0.2802 180s per leg. That's slightly behind Stephen Buntings average of 0.2883 180s per leg.

So why is Peter Wright 1.8 in this market and Stephen Bunting 3.0?

I can only assume the bookies haven't done their homework and have just based it on the overall quality of the 2 players. As bullseye points out, Peter Wright has a fantastic head to head record with Bunting, with many easy wins. However it's a different story when we focus on 180s.

In the last 12 meetings with 180s on record (at dartsdatabase.co.uk) Bunting has hit the Most 180s on 5 occasions, Wright has the won the market 5 times and 2 were draws. Many of those were shorter matches and this longer format reduces the likelihood of a tie in this market.

So the 2 key stats are that their 180 averages per leg are almost identical, the H2H record when focused on this market is tied, yet the bookies make Wright the strong favourite.

One final point is that I've watched Bunting a lot this week and his grouping around the treble 20 has been superb, when he does miss it tends to be on the wire. He's openly admitted to working harder on his game in recent months and the results have certainly followed.

Based on perceived value I have to go double stakes here.
