Cameron Menzies v Berry Van Peer

Darts - Grand Slam of Darts - 13 Nov 19:45

This tip could make me look like a complete twat but I think punters have got too carried away and as a result the price on Van Peer has tempted me in.

Punters have clearly seen Van Peer struggling to release his darts but against Whitlock once he got the first dart away the others were not too bad. I'm just hoping all the support he's received from fellow players and the crowd will take a little bit of pressure off tonight's game.

His inability to release that first dart drove Whitlock mad and I noticed watching Menzies that he's a bundle of energy and really eager to get to the oche each turn. Waiting for Van Peer might just throw him off as it did to Whitlock.

We shouldn't forget that the winner of this match will actually qualify for the next round. Menzies has impressed but he had no pressure on him in those opening 2 matches, all of a sudden he's expected to win, can he produce his best darts and stay relaxed given this change in dynamic?

Van Peer made the World Youth final last year and has scalps over Whitlock (x2), Gurney, Barneveld and Klaasen so does have some ability. He could well average in the 60s again but I'm willing to take a punt at this price. Half stakes though.
