Australia V England No double century scored in series

Cricket - The Ashes - 16 Dec 23:30

As mentioned in my previous tip both sides are blessed with 2 top class batsman and players likely to threaten to score a double hundred. Double tons are very rare events as no matter how good the batsman there are other variables he can not control such as the length of his teams innings.

To bat the length of time required your teams scores will likely to in excess of 400 plus and requires others batsman in the side being able to play long innings and occupy the crease to offer this opportunity before the small matter of plundering over 200 runs personally against Starc, Hazelwood and Cummins. For these reasons I am ruling out Cook and Root and as such the England side of this equation.

For Australia its Warner and Smith. Warner is a fine player and will score runs in this series. His game is very aggressive and he is always taking the attack to the bowler which does give the fielding side a chance and I feel happy going against him scoring 200. Smith another fine player but has only one 200 in 56 games and again am happy to take him on.

The 4 players combined test match's are 329 and they have 8 doubles between them in this time. I feel again this is being price up on previous series and certainly better batting line ups.
