South Africa v Aus 4-0

Cricket - Test Series - 01 Mar 08:00

Long shot, but I fear for SA I really do.

This 5 bowler stratagy is crazy. Philander is never a test number 7. We have already seen What Aus did to the England tail which is a lot better.

Bowling wise both Morkel and Philander have injury issues and are very much the wrong side of 30. Ngidi has played one series, on crap wickets and only 11 FC games.

The who SA batting lineup has either been injured or struggling for runs. Amla is now 35, and you have to go back to 2016 to his last century against a top test side. ABDV has not played a lot of red ball cricket in recent years. Markram has yet to make runs v top class opposition Du Plesis has been injured.

For Aus, Warner likes it here, Smith is super human, Both Marsh brothers have runs and form.

Also all bar Warner have been sat at home chilling and or preping for this series, whilst SA have been spanked by India with the white ball.

Aus 3 seamers have played all of an Ashes series and are 5 or 6 years younger than 2 of their SA couterparts. I think there is far greater likelyhood of them staying fit.

The danger with a bet like this always the weather, but is 17/1 for a reason.

I would say Elgar, AB QDK in form (he is not) and Rabada would get into this Aus side. Wheres SA would take Warner Smith, probably 1 of the Marsh brothers and any of the 3 Aus seamers.
