New Zealand v England- Wood Most Economical bowler

Cricket - T20I - 13 Feb 06:00

I cannot split the 3 spinners so I am not even going to try. There are short boundaries all around here as well.

38 times someone has bowled a spell for 7 runs an over or less here. Only 16 of them are spinners. That is a far lower percentage than usual.

13 have done so in the last 4 years only 4 are spinners.

That does not bare out 7/2 on all the spinners. (Rashid Santner Sodhi)

Equally despite that stats Boult at 7/2 is equally nuts. He got spanked in his only game here, and bowls all the worst overs.

Willey I did consider. But he only has 2 showings under 7 in 28 games. He has twice now bowled brilliant first spells, only to be really whalloped after that.

Wood bowled 3 overs for 18 in his one game so far before Maxwell's last big 6. What stuck me is that he only bowled 1 in the PP and would have bowled out before the end.

It also looks like Williamson may swap places with Munro, which makes this a much more viable proposition. The most economical spell on this ground was also bowled by the quickest bowler, Adam Milne, Wood is in the same bracket.

Be warned, he could go a long way, but stats say he is value.
