Australia Under 310.5 1st Innings runs V England

Cricket - 1st Test - 24 Nov 23:30

Australia resume on 165-4

As in the previous two days the first few hours of tomorrow could well have a big bearing on the outcome of the test. England struggled to 302 all out before the Australian top order found it equally difficult falling to 76-4, until Smith and Marsh hit back to finish the day 165-4.

England will be desperate to restrict the Aussies tomorrow and a night to regroup and start again tomorrow will be of benefit. The wicket is slow and not offering lots for the quicks, though scoring quickly and freely has also proved a struggle.

England will likely go for a mixture of attack and defense tonight with keeping an eye on not letting Australia get away as well as taking the remaining 6 wickets.

England/this bet has a few windows of opportunity, as mentioned Smith and Marsh batted well on day 2, but starting your innings again is always a challenge - against refreshed and pumped up bowlers.

There is spin for Moeen in the wicket and a new ball is due in 16 overs time which England will be really looking to make breakthroughs with. As well as the current batsman are playing - in next is Tim Paine who has not played test cricket and is under enormous scrutiny and pressure from the Aussie media and at No8 is Mitchell Starc who looks to be batting quite high in a test match line up and England will be hoping of they can remove this next wicket without to much damage they will be very much looking to dismiss Australia before the 311 line.
