Utah Jazz v Oklahoma City Thunder

Basketball - NBA - 22 Oct 02:00

Not much to say, I would go against the mass this time. Utah Jazz would play at home, where they were 29-12 last season. This one would be a B2B game for them, but that's the only advantage Thunder has, if there is any. Jazz were the best defensive team in the league last season, allowing opponents to score just 96.8 points per game, while on B2B games 97.3 points per game. So, defensively, it's not an issue for them. Thunder at the other hand has proven throught the preseason, that they are not clicking just yet. Paul George & Carmelo Anthony were added to the Thunder team via trades during offseason, but they lost whole core of the their bench + Oladipo, who was the second best scorer on their team last season. Now they have really solid starting-five, but besides that - they are garbage, literally. They won the first game against one of the worst teams in the league New York Knicks at home 105-84, but out of 105 points their bench scored just 16. That's one of the worst results in the league. It's hard to imagine them winning games against good teams if they would get little to none bench production. And that's why I think today they would have no chance against very good defensive team like Jazz. Because if the home team would be able to slow someone down from the starting-five, they are screwed.

Rodney Hood won't play today for Jazz because of the injury, but I don't think it's that big of a deal when you have some really good players to back him out (Sefolosha & Johnson). Donovan Mitchell have made just 22.2% of the field-goal attempts in two first games & Utah is expecting him to step up today, since he was one of the best players during preseason for them (15.5ppg).
