New York Knicks v Cleveland Cavaliers

Basketball - NBA - 14 Nov 00:30

I must be a glutton for punishment backing against Lebron James but 2/1 for the Knicks at home given the impressive way they've been playing at the garden and with the cavs playing a back to back on the way from Dallas is just too big for me to ignore

The Knicks have won their last 4 games at home, 3 by a double digit margin, the Cavs are as inconsistent as it comes on the road 3-3. The 6-2 at home Knicks are 8th in offensive efficiency and have one the most dynamic scorers in the game at the minute with Porzingis averaging 30.4 points per game.

Thompson, the Cav's best rim defender is out, Kevin Love and Channing Frye are terrible defenders, Crowder and James are undersized so Love and Frye are the only feasible matchup for him, Porzingis and Kanter should dominate in that area of the court.

Both teams are poor defensively but the Cavs are just woeful, the Knicks are a matchup nightmare for them. In the previous match between these two, Knicks won comprehensively away in Cleveland 114-95.

I don't think it will be as substantial this time, James tends to raise his game at Madison Square Garden as do most great players but having the Cavs at 1/2 favourites is ludicrous to me.

Isiah Thomas is still out and Derrick Rose is unlikely to feature. The only two players than can run the offence for the Cavs is Lebron and Wade, when those two aren't on the court the Cavs will struggle massively. Cleveland do have the potential to win this but they haven't showed me enough this season to confidently back them at that price. I'm going with the upset in what should be a close game.
