MVP Winner - James Harden

Basketball - NBA - 06 Nov 12:00

This one is for James Harden to win the MVP this season. He already finished second in the MVP voting in 2 of the last 3 seasons and I think this is finally his year. Voters will probably more inclined to give him the award in case of a very close race based on the fact he already was so close 2 times.

James Harden is the leader of one of the best teams in the league, the Houston Rockets. In my opinion they will finish this season as one of the best 3 teams in the whole league and the win totals set by the bookies at the start of the season indicates the same thing. They already started the season very well with a 8-3 record which is the second best in all the NBA. Almost in all the years the MVP goes to a player that is playing for one of the top 2 teams in each conference so the fact Houston is so strong will help James a lot.

Harden had an incredible season last year. With 29 points,11 assists and 8 rebounds he would've won the MVP in a lot of years but Westbrook had an historic season averaging a triple double so he won it.

This season Harden averages 29.4 points and 9.7 assists which is incredible once again. He just had a 56 points game against the Jazz and he looks like his form is just getting better.

Harden plays for coach D'Antoni who likes to give his pointguard a lot of responsibilities. With him as coach Steve Nash won 2 MVP's and Harden already had his best season ever in his first year playing for D'Antoni.

Harden will have Chris Paul coming back after the injury soon and some people fear that this will reduce his assists number a lot. In my opinion that is 1000% true. The assists number may be a little lower but Harden will still get around 8-9 assists and Paul should help him score more. Paul will also make the Rockets stronger and get a better record.

Harden opponents this season are Westbrook , Lebron, Giannis, Curry, Durant and Kawhi. Westbrook won't win it again because he is now sharing the court with another 2 superstars so his stats already look way worse. Lebron and Giannis both have amazing stats but their teams just does not look good enough so far. Curry and Durant play for the same team and unless they win close to 70 games this season I think they will not get the award. Kawhi who was the favorite at the start of the season is injured and missed all games so I think his chances are pretty small too.
